Ballarat Show is on the move

It's been in the works for many years and finally it's been announced. The Ballarat Agricultural and Pastoral Society has made public their intentions to relocate the Showgrounds to Federation University's Mount Rowan campus. BAPS were attracted by the existing modern infrastructure and available space which would allow all show events to occur at the one location. Over recent years due to encroaching sporting facilities on the existing site, equestrian events have been held off-site at the Ballarat Airport polo field which disjointed the show day's activities. The State Government has committed $5 million to BAPS for the development of the modern multi-purpose Showgrounds on the 16.2-hectat

Major station redevelopment to enhance community and visitor facilities

Ballarat Train Station Redevelopment: It's no secret that something major is going on at the Ballarat railway station. Works have been underway for months with the foundations for a 405-commuter space car park now constructed. A new free parking facility is great news for Ballarat commuters but it’s only phase one of the redevelopment. Still to come is the construction of a 77 room Quest hotel, a modern and flexible conference centre in the soon to be refurbishment heritage listed Goods Shed and a new bus interchange to service the growing public transport needs of the Ballarat community.
